EM & OO9 gauge, by Martyn Mullinder. At our 70th anniversary exhibition on 17 and 18 October.
17 and 18 OctoberCorfe Hills School, Broadstone
Edward's Farm is the fourth part of Martyn's Upbech trilogy. Inspired by the Lincolnshire potato railways, it has a farm yard with narrow gauge sidings. Alongside is usually a pair of standard gauge sidings, where farm produce is sent to the nearby junction and along the Upbech branch.
The narrow gauge stock has a Colonel Stephens touch, while the standard gauge, in EM, is inspired by the Midland & Great Northern. This is the era of fuel rationing.
The full layout is two SMS micro layout boards joined together, each with its own fiddle yard, so they can be worked separately or together.
Martyn is also giving a weathering demonstration. Over the years he has weathered with talc, charcoal and chalks, and more recently with military modelling products from AK, Vallejo and War World Scenics, using mainly artists' acrylics with some Games Workshop and Humbrol paints. There are examples on display, so please ask him anything.
