Our layouts stay up all week, so on club night we just walk in and run trains.

We have a clubroom of our own in the middle of Poole, so nothing gets packed away between meetings. There are OO and N gauge layouts where members run their own trains, British or North American, on DC or DCC, and a test track for trying out new locomotives.

Come to watch, have a go, ask questions and have a cup of tea. Whether you have never owned a train set or have a loft full of boxes, you will be welcome.

Every October we fill a hall with layouts and traders. To mark 70 years, this year's show runs over two days.

In the clubroom: one test track, four sizes of train

The test track sits in the middle of the clubroom: two OO loops that switch between DC and DCC, a TT loop, and an inner loop for N and OO9. Members use it to run in new locomotives and check their stock before it goes on a layout.

  • The exhibition moves to Corfe Hills School

    The 2025 show was our first in the new venue: a larger hall on one floor, with complete disabled access and a big car park.
